Not sure why you would pay for that. Filezilla does the directory comparison quite well and there are a hundred tools for comparing text files.

This one is better than the others. I've grown used to kdiff and vimdiff but this was the best of these style of tool I remember. Mostly the UI was much easier to work with.

Sort of like using IntelliJ. I wouldn't need to buy it on my own, but if the company is paying for it I'm not going to say no.

J/k... We use perforce p4merge at work. But many people prefer vimdiff

We use araxis merge instead of p4diff. Don't know if other tools would be better, but I like Araxis. I use it as a plain text editor, too, since it's faster than wordpad and doesn't muck with line endings or stuff like that.

Oh and it's not so much the diff part that is nice with this app, it's more the merge features.
