does the "ship from" address match where you sent it to? if not, its a refurb.  I sent mine to Texas twice and, twice, they sent me refurbished consoles out of Tennessee.

I just tried the instructibles fix for the red ring of death. When I tested it this morning, fans turn on but then go off again. Also the light on the power supply is briefly green then changes back to orange. Also im still getting the 3 rings. Do I need a new power supply?

well it's been 6 years, and the refurbished 1st-gen 360 they sent me in 2010 just red-ringed as well.  Kinda sucks, because that's the only media player I have in our basement/playroom for the kids (and the TV down there is old so I can't hook any modern HDMI or Wi-Fi devices up to it.
