Title: Name of the Wind
Post by: kermi3 on April 03, 2013, 08:36:36 AM
I'm relistening to Name of the Wind right now.  Anyone else read it?  Seriously, this is going to be a fantasy classic.  It's so well crafted.  Balances dark, funny, and just a damn good story....

The sequel is equally good.  Can't wait for the end of the trilogy.

But judging by the time it took to publish book 2...we'll be waiting till 2015

Yes! I just read the first one last week, and now I'm about 90% done with the second on my kindle. The way the chapters are written, it's almost impossible to put down. I keep telling myself, "Just one more chapter..."

I am almost done with the first.  Amazing ride.  I am duly impressed by this story.

Second is better - though it doesn't have the scene where he gets his pipes....so....that's a big minus

1/2 way through Wise Man's Fear....  I agree it is better than the first.  Wonderful story.

Since reading this book I've finished a couple of Earthsea novels, the Mistborn Trilogy, and now I'm starting on The Wheel of Time Series. Love me some fantasy. And my Kindle.

It gets better.  Where is he now?

On the road with the mercenaries.  Tensions are getting high.

You haven't even made it to the meat yet.  You're going to love it.

the Mistborn Trilogy

Google is saying there is four.  So maybe you have one more to enjoy?  :)  How was this?  I will soon be bookless.

Mistborn: The Alloy of Law is a stand-alone high fantasy novel by Brandon Sanderson. It is a sequel to the trilogy of the Mistborn series, and the setting of the novel is approximately 300 years after the conclusion of the trilogy.

Ah... nevermind.  I guess it would be a trilogy and a sequel to the trilogy.  heheh...

Didn't realize there was a sequel! As far as the trilogy goes, the first book was just ok and I probably would have stopped reading but I had bought all three as a bundle for my kindle. The second and third were definitely worth it, though not as good as The Name of the Wind. It had some good twists and turns--some that I didn't see coming at all

So finished the second one in this series.  (Wise Man's Fear) I thought it was very awesome.  Can't wait for more.
