Ober, we should find some time to get together for a game this season.  That'd rock.

Between the Pistons and the Red Wings you're excited for the Tigers to start playing why???

I'm not really interested in the Pistons until the playoffs (especially now that it's very unlikely they'll see 70 wins).  Wings games are usually on at night, while most Tigers games are during the day.  I've got enough love for all the Detroit teams! :)

PS You are just jealous because Colorado doesn't have a baseball team.

Just wondering why when Detroit has such great teams in other sports you're so excited for a team whos goal each year is to NOT get triple digit losses.  :D

True, they don't, luckily I was a Dodger fan long before I came to Denver, not that they are much better ;)

Because this is our year! (note: every year since 1987 has been "our year")

Seriously, because I grew up on the Tigers.  Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Kirk Gibson, and Al Kaline were my heroes when I was a kid.  Hell, the only decoration in my living room are a couple old newspapers from when Kaline was just starting off.

In spite of their flaws, they are making some strides forward.  Signing Pudge and Troy Percival were pretty major mistakes, but Ordonez was solid last year (while healthy) and hopefully Kenny Rogers will bring some good stuff to our starting pitching.  Our top pitcher is only 23, and we have two of the top minor league prospects in Justin Verlander and Joel Zumaya.  Verlander's getting called up this year and is sure to make a contribution.

Plus they've got the best logo in baseball.

PS Orel Hersheiser has a stupid name.

Fine. Take Ober. I don't care, anyway.

What do you find so, nice, about cheez? Sure if I wasn't such an ass I'd probably know him better.

You guys know each other from College or something? Or is just a web love phase

Colorado Rockies.....they just happen to suck.

And am pretty angry about the Marlins. We have a VERY sorry team this year.
How can we start spring training without the WCB or WBC, you know the one, the baseball world series.

They can call themselves a team as soon as they decide to stop playing at a little league field.

>> Spring Training starts TOMORROW! YAY!!! <<

Thank you, God.  Never mind the fact that I've been talking baseball with my friends for the last two weeks or so.

>> go stros! <<

...

That's what happens when every time you start to develop a team, you sell it away.  More than anything else right now, the Marlins management needs an overhaul.

>> Signing Pudge and Troy Percival were pretty major mistakes, but Ordonez was solid last year (while healthy) and hopefully Kenny Rogers will bring some good stuff to our starting pitching. <<

Pudge is creaky, old, and on his way out, and Percival just walked out of spring training yesterday -- and it doesn't look like he's coming back.  Magglio Ordonez IS pretty solid -- however, a couple of friends and I determined today that he's probably the ONLY thing that Detroit has going for them.

At least you'll be better than the Rockies.

>> They can call themselves a team as soon as they decide to stop playing at a little league field. <<

I wouldn't call it a little league field -- I'd call it batting cages.

To show my support, I wore my Damon jersey today.  Go Yankees!
A sophism of madness...

I live in MD, moving to OH (semi-close to MI, for those not from the states) sometime this summer.  Are we doing an Indians game or a Tigers game, cheezer?
