Oh, I forgot about that.

Obviously I'm all about Tigers games, but I'm open to negotiation.

I'm good with a Tigers game.  I've been to the new stadium once... it's pretty nice.  I need to go to The Jake (Indians' Jacobs field) as well... I might have to take my father-in-law this summer.

I've never been to the Jake, but I have been on the parking garage adjacent to it (I was going to a concert at Gund Arena, which is next door).  That's a nice looking field, too.

Sounds like a plan.  We'll go to a game, catch the peoplemover back to greektown, and gamble and drink the night away. wheee!

Sweet, maybe we can hit Bizouki's "Sports Bar" while we're there.

Note to Bizouki's: Just because you have a TV over the bar with ESPN on doesn't mean you're not a titty bar.  I do appreciate not having "Bizouki's Topless Boobstravaganza" on my credit card receipts, though.

WERD!

proof:
1.  decent looking guys
2.  tight pants accentuating crotch and butt
3.  constant "adjustment" of crotch
4.  spitting
5.  "complementry" ass slaps

Can you GET any faggotyier?  (well there is boxing - men in silk underwear, wearing gloves and fighting over a "purse")

I dunno... Buncha guys, in the middle of nowhere, drinking with their guns.  Sounds pretty queer to me.

Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Kirk Gibson, and Al Kaline were my heroes when I was a kid.
Gibson is mine as well, favorite sports moment of all time was my house going crazy with everyone cheering and hugging each after he hit that home run to bet the A's.

Anyone interested in starting an ES (and maybe Cprog combined) fantasy baseball league?

"I DON'T BELIEVE... WHAT I JUST SAW"

I did fantasy mlb last year.  The season's just too long for most people.  I just checked it once a week or so and made sure I had guys playing in the upcoming games, whether they were good or not.  I ended up running away with the league, since most people stopped paying attention around June.

Yeah, most leagues are like that.  In my experience with you guys, though, we all talk baseball in spring training and almost never mention it again until October.  If we kept up a decent baseball discussion season-long, that might help any sort of league we were to set up.

Being safe does not entail rooting for the Detroit Tigers!  If you really want to pick an MLB team, give us an idea of what kind of strategy you like, or something like that.  Pitching, big-ball offense, small-ball offense, solid D...?  Are you a front-runner or do you love to root for the underdog?  If you're a fan of the underdog, do you like rooting for the hopeless underdog (*coughKansasCityRoyalscough*) or the dark horse?
A sophism of madness...

*note: groovy is not a tigers fan*

i prefer the underdog that actually win some games...if that narrows it down at all.  and probably pitching/big-ball offense would be my main concern.
