Got a new job today with American Express. The pay ended up being a touch less, but I am qualified for raises, profit sharing and bonuses at the end of this year (in 6 mo) which will bring me to over what I make now.
This means no more travelling (you are so smart groovy), and I get to be immersed in a major world of computers in Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
Big company, bigtime job... and I feel I have finally made it to something of a success. Now I just need to keep away from the potential big company lay-off chopping block, and I am home free.
The greatest aspect of this is that I can gain experience that will allow me to move to other companies that use computers (read: "all of them")... even those in Finland. So, I am now in a profession that will make me a global commodity... and maybe my wife will get her dream to live back in Finland in several years (5-7).
So there it is... I gotta write a resignation letter and go pee in a cup.
