Star Trek Beyond
« on: August 05, 2016, 03:31:01 PM »
I saw this in 3D last week. Went to the theater by myself after the family went to bed.

Taken with the grain of salt that is the reboot series; I really liked it.  Its probably the best of the 3.  The plot plays out like a solid episode of the show would. I like that it takes place during year 3 of their 5 year mission and all the characters gel nicely without the conflict and "getting to know you" stuff that was in the first two.  It felt like a star trek movie with a 2016 treatment where as, IMHO, the others were sort of crazy action movies set in a Trek universe.  Not to say this wasn't all action.  I saw the new Jason Bourne movie too and honestly, think Star Trek was more action packed.

I give it 8/10.

The reboot series is great.  So was Beyond.

Finally after years they introduced the Kelvin timeline to Star Trek Online.  I am driving the Kahn Vengeance Intel Dreadnought.
