I've heard the "one" thing numerous times. I can recall three times, one is kind of emberassing so I wont say it, another was at a jay-z interview and a third was at a method man concert I went to.

I agree...Jay-Z is not my favorite as well, but he has decent lyrics and comes up with new things all the time. This in contrast with other rappers, is unique...all rappers have the "ghetto gospel" and that's what their first CVD is always about, but what then? often their following albums are just a refurbishing of the first one.
Method man is probably my favorite rapper....whenever he is in town I go see the show.

edit: axon, since you're a Method Man fan - was there ever a real version of "Release yo' delf"? I've heard the version on the Resident Evil soundtrack and like it a lot, but it's censored and I think it's a Prodigy remix. All I've found on Soulseek is what sounds like a bunch of women singing it.

True dat, but even gangsta's pretty 1-D y'know? There's some great aussie/kiwi rap & hip hop to be heard. Koolism, Bliss N Esso, Hilltop Hoods, Butterfingers, The Herd, Muphin & Plutonic Lab to name but a few...I've got some great comps. if anyone's interested.
