Anyone tried it yet? I'm tempted just for fun. I have BETA tested all of the other releases's since 98, i feel so out of the loop on this one

I thought Vista was the first time MS did public beta?

I believe you are correct on the public aspect. My Grandfather is/was a Windows developer i used to get all the releases the BETA testers got.

Ok the downloads are closed but i just submitted for a key, i will see if i can find a current release on torrent i trust. I'm just going to split off 20 gigs from the shared partition so i can play with it. I'm expecting Vista with a tailored GUI to be honest.

The reviews say the differences between XP and Vista are less than Vista to 7.

I need to get my machine straightened out so that I can install it and see what I think.  I am interested in using in 64 bit form.   Looking forward to comparing game performance.

I would be surprised by that... any mention of what the changes are?

Ask Randy.  He concurs with the reviews.
