favorite producers
« on: May 20, 2006, 02:45:43 AM »
who do you guys like as far as producers go - and I'm mainly talking about pop and rap producers here. My fav by far is Timbaland...ever since Genuine's "Pony" I was always looking forward to almost anything he touched. He has a very distinctive beat and instrumental arrangment. Not only is his music great to listen in the car/house but is laso great in a club. Check out Nelly Furtados new single Promiscious - I really dig it. (might need to view it in IE :( )

You can't forget Rick Rubin - he's done so much in in so many different genres that it is hard to keep up. Even though I don't like many songs that they produce, The Neptunes are also kick ass.

I freagin hate Kanye - his beats just don't do it for me, and even if the lirycs are good I can't listen to the song.

Oops, sorry. I misread your post. I thought you said who's Mr Sucky of Sucktown, and sucks worse than a $50 hooker crossed with a broken Kirby. My bad.

The RZA and Primo are at the top of my list.  Danger Mouse is moving up it, though.

That'd be him, and I agree about the production.  I believe Dan the Automator produced the first one, and while I like him a lot, the second album was more solid all around.  Danger Mouse was also responsible for "The Grey Album", DangerDoom with MF Doom, and the Gnarls Barkley album with Cee Lo.
