Well, we had an anticipation thread....but no actual viewing thread. Has anyone other than me see it? I saw it last Friday, and really enjoyed it. Just like the comic book, when it came out, it was quite onorthodox in the way it was shot and all. The scenes looked like frames from a comic book with over exagurated effects (i.e. wind blowing on the dock). The story with Willis was probably the weakest one; I really, really liked the one with Goldie!
I don't have too much time to write a lengthy review, so I'll just add one more thing: this is the first time EVER I've been carded ata movie theater.
overal:: 9/10

-

Thats what I was thinking when you said that. "OMG BEER AT A MOVIE THEATER"!!!!
Almost as bad as beer at Chucky Cheese

This is definately a movie I'm going to see. Not only because it's the only movie in IMDB top 100 I haven't seen.
Alas, IMDB says Sin City will be released in Sweden 20th July. :(

I know quite a few movie theaters that serve beer.

The only ones I ever saw that served beer (and liquor!) were a few in Michigan. It was pretty cool if ya ask me.

We have "Gold Class" here, basically a posh cinema with 12 seats, and you can order food/beer/wine whatever and they'll bring it into you. Jeez it's nice, but exy. Haven't seen Sin City, but it looks alright. May check it out.

Easily the funniest movie about rape, prostitution, pedophilia, dismemberment, cannibalism, and mass murder I've seen in the last year.
-
sounds like a movie for me!
-
I saw it yesterday and it was really good. Eliah Wood's character was .
Anyone else that thought it reminded alot about the computer game Max Payne?

The comic came out long before the game.

The most famous one (or it might be a chain) I know of is in Texas - the Alamo Drafthouse. They serve meals, have theme nights, and even have nights where people aren't allowed to bring kids. Sounds cool to me!

I know.
Nevertheless, the movie's style with the voiceover and atmosphere really made me think of Max Payne.

have you noticed that his character was not featured in any of the previews/ads - if he was, I wouldn't be so excited about the movie, as IMO, he is a really poor actor. Good thing he had no lines in this movie.

No, this is not a movie I'd like to see Frodo running around in.

"Sin City is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). The film contains a smorgasbord of stylized, generally unrealistic-looking violent acts, including a lot of dismemberment; there is also alcohol use, adult language, some hanky-panky and many women in various stages of undress."
--Manohla Dargi of The New York Times.
I felt the film alternated between laughable and sickening. But meh, that's just me.

At the movie theatres here in Calgary, I went to see a movie a week or two ago and they were selling beer at the ticket line  Only 3 more months and I'll be the legal drinking age (18).

We must have really close birthdays then...
I still haven't seen it! Too busy...

August 18th, to be exact.
