Yesterday I went to a launch even of sorts for SQL Server 2005. At the end of the session, they had their standard evaluation and raffle drawing. Last time I went to one of these, they gave away tons of really cool prizes (XBox, complete set of MS Press books, MSDN Universal subscription) but I didn't win anything. This time I got a little luckier and won the best prize out of the 4 available. The first 2 people took Office 2003 Pro and Virtual PC 2004. I was the third person drawn out of the 4 and had a choice between Halo (which came with my sound card) and this (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/abouttn/subscriptions/default.mspx).
So pretty much, I sat through a couple really boring presentations and won almost every piece of business software MS makes. Here's (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/abouttn/subscriptions/evalsoftware.mspx) a list of the programs. The only thing I can't find in there that I wanted was VS.NET, but I think work is buying that soon anyways. :D

I said this last nite, but I hate you. Then again, I'm just a jealous fuck.

That's ok, I still hate drak (?) for winning that TV and PC a couple years ago. It's normal.
edit: Things I have won in random drawings:
13" TV/VCR combo
pen shaped like a fish
6" sub
autographed guitar
Microsoft

You lucky, lucky, lucky bastard. [/python]
Congratulations - most I've ever won was a coconut at a fair ground, although you should understand that I'm using the word 'won' in its loosest possible sense as I had to spend a heap of cash on the little balls to hurl at it first.

>>Microsoft
Like you won the company
I can honestly say I don't think I've ever won anything. Hell, I pretty much had to beg for the measly $200 scholarship that I got for college :(

eh, you're close enough, but that was a few years ago.
and wouldn't you know that was the only time i've purchased books at the university bookstore - yay for me.
(and it was just the mac, no tv, unless you want to send me one :D)
now did you win software, or classes, b/c on that first link it talks about online classes to learn you to use ms software?
-
He won a technet subscription, which gives him access to the software itself.

I won the classes, too, but the ones on that page are pretty useless to me. I'll have to see if I can take something else.
> no tv
Someone on FD won a big screen TV. Maybe it was ethic?
