Toshiba e830 or Dell Axim X50v?
« on: May 28, 2005, 01:00:26 AM »
Yes, I am planning on a PDA, after my Camcorder. Which one is a better choice?

M$ Windows PocketPC version 2003

Axim X50v:

Intel XScale 624 MHz
64MB RAM
128 MB ROM
WiFi (b)/ BlueTooth
3.7" TFT @ 64K color VGA Touchscreen
Intel 2700G MM Accel 16MB
CF/SD slots

e830:

Intel PXA272 520MHz
128MB RAM
64MB ROM
WiFi (b)/ BlueTooth
4.0" TFT @ 64K color VGA Touchscreen
CF/SD slot

both @ $599 CAD.

The HP hx4700 is too expensive, and not a single Asus A730W for miles around.

My dad got an X50 (the cheapest one I think) a couple months ago to do his paino tuning with and had high hopes for it, but was disappointed by the battery life. He really liked the device though. I was thinking of buying it off of him but I still like my Clie.

I love my Clie (tj35), but the battery isnt holding a full charge anymore :(

The Axims are quite large, not sure about the toshiba. If you want something you can comfortably toss in our pcket than you might want to look into something smaller. The clie's are great for that, but they don't make them anymore :(

I am not considering anything lower than VGA.
