Just a quick update... I'm constantly impressed with these headphones.  I don't know if I can definitely vouch for surround noise (I want to say they do but it's been so long since I gamed that I can't really recall).  Music alone is AWESOME with these things.  Great bass and VERY clear.

I haven't used the mic much but it's great.

What kind of card are you running? Forget if you mentioned it. I ask because this laptop has a high def soundcard and it made my headphones 2x better then i thought they were on my other computers. Was very suprised at the difference.
