You need to go bigger than 19 inch to have a widescreen IMO. I agree with Ober that it just feels small because of the vertical space with a 19inch. But if you go to 22 or 24 it's great to have widescreen.

agreed...ide's with multiple docked windows, tabs, open files, etc...the extra real estate is worth it...

But why?  How is it superior?  You say it is but you don't give a reason.  I gamed on my new one last night and it didn't look as nice... seemed a little squashy even though the resolution was set as the default resolution for my monitor. 

And I don't see the advantage for regular computing either.  Most websites are setup at a defined width so you end up with a lot of wasted space.  I don't like running with minimized windows so I wouldn't get any advantage there.  The only other advantage I could see is when coding and there wouldn't be as much word-wrap... but the screen is shorter so I lose some of the vertical scope without scrolling.

It's not like it gives you a wider range of view when gaming either.  I just don't see any advantages.

They are by definition superior   I have widescreen at home and square at work and I just loath the square ones.  Any modern game should have a widescreen aspect.  It is only on old games that I've had problems with.  Have you thought that maybe the game is the cause of the squashy and not the monitor?

I don't know what shitty websites you go to but the ones I see are fluid in width.

It coding it has a huge advantage as you really don't need as much vertical lines as you think but being able to layout multiple things side by side is hugely useful.

I like it for browsing, gaming, movies/TV, email, and having multiple windows open at once.

I don't know if BF2 has widescreen issues.  It used to have them, but I would hope they would have taken care of that issue in the patch(es).

At home I use two monitors.  Don't know how I went without for so long with a single monitor.  Very useful.

I tell you what... if someone can find me a decent 24" widescreen for less than $200 that is going to be good for gaming, I'll consider buying it and canceling my current order.  I just haven't found one I'm in love with.

Now THIS is a fucking monitor.  HOT DAMN.  I think I just blew a load.  No dead spots, no dead pixels, no major adjustments out of the box, everything about this is a better product than the LG... even the packaging and little things like giving you a cool little wire tie make ALL the difference.  WOW... just WOW.
