Yes. Totally ruining music culture for a quick buck, but you cant really blame them. TV stations and music labels are business with profit being the main goal, so they'll do what gets them the most profit.

BTW Australian idol is probably worse

It's hardly the first show to do this.  Besides most of the music they're singing sucks anyways, so who cares?

I can honestly say that I've never seen more than about 5 minutes of this show... and that's all the combined time from flipping past it or seeing clips from other shows making fun of people on it.

My brother and I watched a couple episodes of the ones where they're still trying out.  The crappy people are pretty funny.

It's pretty piss poor.  I guess what irks me is that if they were up front and just said, "This is only about money" then I'd be fine with it, but they make out as though it's some soul-searching quest for great talent.  Fuck off it is.

we only watched the audition portion and then only to make fun of the idiots who think they can carry a tune.

once the find their finalists are selected, we find something else to watch.

I watched it a few times like in the 2nd or 3rd session (the one with the fat black guy and the twiggy white guy) and it was like the last couple epsoides.

I don't really care for the music (as a whole) that they use.  Its all the same pop(ish) music and anyone with an alternative style is pretty much shit out of luck.

But it's Fox and it's still better then the other "reality" shows they've done

Which one was that?  :dunno:

I think the people on that show are so bland and stereotypical. Plus, they only sing other people's songs. What's to like?
