Velocity - Dean Koontz
« on: July 25, 2006, 10:31:04 AM »
I really liked this book. Koontz is an awesome story teller, he really knows how to paint a picture and make the most out of otherwise minor details of a story. The action was pretty constant and I was always hooked to find out what happened next, and the ending was good too!

The only issue I had was that Koontz is more poetic in his descriptions than I'm used to. After a few chapters I got used to his style though and all was good.

I think the best part (after having just read 2 Dan Brown books) is that there were no parts where I rolled my eyes and thought, "thats lame but I'll buy it for the sake of the story". This story was pretty solid all around.

I'm going to go out out on a limb and say that there's a happy ending?  Also, the female love interest is strikingly beautiful and probably has green eyes, but has a very deep scar, either emotional or physical.

How'd I do?

Figured.  Every Dean Koontz book I've read (and I've read too many) has those exact same characteristics.

They're enjoyable books for a quick read, but it's the same damn formula in every one.  I'm guessing it also takes place in Southern California.

If you want more by him, my two favorites were Dark Rivers of the Heart and Intensity.
