Noise cancelling headphones
« on: January 19, 2011, 02:26:19 PM »
What's the current best? Still Bose? Anything from Sony/Sennheiser or those sorts of guys?

Are there any under $200 that are any good or worth looking at?

My next job is going to be in an open floor plan (vs my office right now) so I'll need to get back to getting used to listening to music while programming. Finally I'll make good use of my Rhapsody account I think.

I have the QuietComfort 15s from Bose and I LOVE them.  Totally worth the money.  I've even used them when sharing a hotel room with a snorer.

The larger set of Bose is nice.  I have used them.

Sennheiser has been getting good press here also.  They never come cheap though.

I'm willing to spend $300-400 if necessary, but if there's a good budget set too (~200), I'm game to try those.

I love my Sony 7506s in my recording studio and I like my Audio Technica m40fs too.

I have a set of Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones and love them.  I used to use them at my last job in noisy engine test cells and now I use a similar pair to block out people on the goddamn phone all day.

I've had a "cheap" set of Sennheiser headphones for years and I love them, but I've never tried their noise cancelling phones. My Dad has some Bose noise-cancelling headphones and they seem pretty nice.
