Title: Skype -- volume problems

I have installed Skype and everything seems to be working except that the person I call can only barely hear my voice. When I call the echo service my voice is much, much lower than the female speaking.
 
When I test the microphone in Windows sound recorder, the levels are normal, and I've adjusted every recording volume to the maximum possible.
 
What can possibly be wrong?

I don't know... I've had the same problem... I just hold the mic closer and talk slightly louder than I usually do (as if they're about two feet in front of me) when I'm on the 'regular' phone...

maybe it adjusts your controls automatically and adjusts too low?
