Did a Judo seminar this weekend. Two guest instructors from Italy, both national champions and one an Olympian. Really great classes and an awesome workout. I also went to the regular 2 hour class on friday, then the 2.5 hour session saturday focusing on ground fighting, and a 2.5 hour session today on throws. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!

my "3 rep max" for back squat was tested to be 193 lbs today. next time I start at higher weight.

Do you do deep squats? I have trouble going past 90 degrees even with low weight

I was going deep until the last couple sets (which were normal). I find it hard to stay balanced in a deep squat unless there's some weight on it.

Balance is an issue...I think strength is more of an issue though. The last time I tried my groin area got super sore without doing much weight. Just not sure if it's also a problem with my form.

new power clean "max" 108. I used to be able to do ~135 back in the day.

I also think I hurt my back in the first round of our workout, but didn't realize it until I finished. Bleh...

Don't have a video camera, and I don't think I'd be too comfortable video taping myself in the gym. I think my toes are slightly pointed out when I squat, and my legs are about shoulder width or a bit more.

Your feet should stay flat but with the weight shifted to the balls of your feet. Also make sure you aren't pointing your knees outward or something like that...

Had to chuckle at this....understandable though.

I think I am finally coming to the realization that I have to go see about shoulder surgery.  My right shoulder has been an issue for several years.  The socket area severely limits my any lifting that uses the (inside the socket) muscles employed during a normal flat bench press.  I have been losing ground for nearly a year, despite being patient with it and working it very lightly.

Sigh.   :( :(
