Yea - no. It's not compatibility, it's features and interface. Granted I haven't tried Open Office in several years...but I'm pretty sure I need more polish than that. Most importantly - I need a fully functioning Excel, and I recall - the Open Office version isn't to kind to Excel's higher level features. I also need fully compatible commenting and track changes....not sure if Open Office has that.....I also have my dissertation written with a citation manager that appears to support Open Office, but it's tricky enough in Word....
