Firefox Plugin Thread
« on: June 08, 2009, 12:32:00 PM »
Can we sticky this?  :dblthumb2:

The idea is a single thread for the plugins and addons that we find useful for Firefox. Please include the name, link, functionality, and the version of Firefox you are using the plugin with. This is useful not only to other users, but to us guys converting over from other browsers who are looking to settle in and make Firefox everything we need.

If you have previously posted this information in other threads please include it here anyway, to keep a central repository going.

Print to PDF
Version: Firefox 3.0 Linux
Link: Firefox Addons
Function: PrintPDF allows you to save your current webpage as a PDF. This can be useful for articles, reference, or in my case inmate data lookup! Once installed you can go to File -> Save as PDF

FireFTP
Link: Firefox Add-ons
Function: FTP in Firefox. Good for me since I use FTP extremely rarely.

Chatzilla
Link: Firefox Add-ons
Function: IRC client. Similar to FireFTP. I rarely use IRC so when I did this worked well.

PDF Download
Link: Firefox Add-ons
Function: Allows you to choose whether you open a pdf in the browser or in Acrobat Reader separate from the browser or just download it for later. It also apparently has a web to PDF functionality but I've never tried that and some of the reviews seem to indicate it might not work so well.

I also use Mouse Gestures Redox, but I don't know if it is the best mouse gestures one available (it is a "recommended" add-on from firefox).

I use Mouse Gestures Redox as well. My only complaint is when navigating backwards it likes to stop gesturing and instead opens the right click dialog. The gestures wont work again until i left click off the menu and start again.

All-In-One Sidebar - Very Opera like left side click for bookmarks and the like.

Auto Copy - Copies text by outlining.  Nothing more needed.

PDF Download - Perfect PDF utility.

FoxTab - Similar to Vista's switch between windows button.  Awesome multi-tab snapshot utility.

Just started using a new one that I'm in love with:

Xmarks (formerly FoxMarks).
http://www.xmarks.com/

Syncs bookmarks on multiple computers and passwords/usernames if you want it to.  VERY COOL.

Don't know if I'd trust usernames and pw...I use Weave for syncing (from mozilla).  Getting ready to work on setting up FoxPass to integrate in my KeePass
govtcheez03:  i kind of look for it - i seek out stupidity and annoy it until it either gets better, gets banned, or goes away on its own
