3.0 requires iTunes 8.2 (I had to upgrade). My phone was not previously jailbroken, I think I'll do that after the MMS update comes out. Ober, I would definitely hold off updating for you until the JB community has a chance to work out all the kinks, although I read one of the groups will have a jailbreak released Friday.

@Mike - The personal developer license is free (simply requires and Apple account) but you cannot apply or get your app in the app store. The limit might even be as low as 10 iPhones though. I'm guessing all of that is handled in the DRM (but you might be able to release the source and have others compile it for their own use). I'm still trying to figure out how to get my hands on a Mac to develop with. My first Hackintosh attempt got foiled by hardware issues (networking). Since it's a developer account, all you do (as I understand) is transfer the app to the phone from the SDK tools and run it. Change it to your hearts content and repeat the process. To 'distribute' it you just need to provide a link to it for others to install from.

Any chance you remember which group?  QwickPwn claimed they will have something soon.

Done.  It's working fine except for one thing.  When I had it jailbroken, I installed an app for "categories" and I dumped a bunch of apps in a folder that basically hid them from the main desktop so I didn't have 10 different desktops.  The update wiped that out and now I don't know if those are gone or if they will come back once I JB again.  I hope so.

It's much more snappy now and they finally made some upgrades to the ipod app!  I'll post in the other thread where that was discussed.

I did it yesterday afternoon just before hitting the road to go see a sick family member (doing better now).  I had no problem, upgrading, but I had difficulty getting my apps to update (store was overloaded).  I've had trouble getting it to sync - it's taking an exceptionally long time to backup - anyone else having an issue?

I love the sideways typing and the iPod updates...I'm hoping, with time, the search will be useful too...

I installed the AP app just so I had something that used Push - works real well.  I can't wait for a messenger or weather app to have it...

I just updated my touch.

I am much happier with the controls over time (say in a podcast).

This seemed like maybe it could help you iPhone guys out.

Useful... for someone that needs to do it.  I personally can't think of a need to tether that I've run into.

I imagine the need is less for the iPhone but I've tethered my laptop to my razr quite a few times.  Sometimes it is because the file is on the laptop and there is no Wi-Fi to get on.  Other times it is because I'm in BFE and want to kill some time surfing the net but don't want to do it on the tiny ass screen.

Knuck, tethering is using your phone to get internet access on your computer/laptop via the cell network.

And yeah Mike... I just don't run into those situations often, if ever.

Sidenote:... if any of your run into a JailBreak method that works for 3.0, LET ME KNOW.  I'm dying over here.
