World Cup 07
« on: September 13, 2007, 10:05:09 PM »
So who else aside from me is watching? Fitlike? Rob? Australia play Wales in Cardiff tomorrow.  Should be a brutal game.  I see Scotland made short work of Portugal.  France are still upset over their loss to the Pumas.  NZ are in top form.  Ireland aren't.  The USA got flogged by Tonga.  Now if only the IRB wouldn't go around banning everyone for a bit of rough tackling...

I thought this would be about women's soccer

I watched part of the USA-England match the other day, but they took away my Setanta so I won't be able to watch anymore.

Too busy.:(

I caught a bit of the Wales v Australia game - superb movement from the Aussies. The southern hemisphere teams are already reasserting their dominance in the game and rightly so from what I can tell.

France may be the only northern team that may be capable of rattling NZ, Aus or SA; England were brushed aside and dumped by SA.

Scotland will get murdered by NZ, too. :(

I wish I had more time to enjoy this tournament but, unfortunately, just now, I don't. :(

Well it looks like the English team have got their act together since the first game so we can look forward to a successful defence of the world cup. Down to the last 8 now. Bring on Australia.

Oh and commiserations to all you americans.  :D

>Bring on Australia.

A rerun of the final last time - should be interesting; looks like the wallabies think the 'english are dirty'. Good to see that Robinson may be fighting fit; shame to see such a speedy and dangerous player hamstrung in the SA game. I still think Australia will win, though. ;)

Scotland will get sorely biffed by Argentina. I caught a little of the Ireland Argentina game and the Argentinians did an impressive job with lots of options in their game.

Wow, what a day for international rugby!!

I guess SA should be considered the favourites now but after today the idea of 'favourites' seems pretty pointless. The tournament is wide open.

I thought you'd be pleased (Stealth won't be, though). :p

Good work by England. I caught some of the game and it wasn't pretty but England played to their strengths; Australia seemed determined to try and score impossible drop goals. I watched a little more of the France v NZ and the result wasn't quite as much as a shocker for me as that for England v Australia as I had thought France the better of the northern hemisphere teams, but what an amazingly terrific contest that game was!

Scotland are still going to get murdered by Argentina tomorrow, though. :(

You lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky bastards. :p

Given that the underdogs (mostly) have progressed it would seem that Argentina are in with a shout against SA. I might even find the time to watch that one...

South Africa won - and nobody bothered to comment. Oh well, that'll be that, then.
