The Pursuit of Happyness

saw this movie over the long weekend with my wife.

We thought it was really good.  :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Predictable, but man, I really needed to see a movie like that.  Kid was so cute!

Saw it last night. Great story, enjoyed it throughout.

Ehh... I usually like these kinds of movies, but this one was just ok.

The happy/uplifting part(s) were too short.

I would agree with this, however, I think that was the point of the movie.
it was about the pursuit of happiness, not the actual happiness itself.

Very true. And while I respect the filmmakers for sticking to that concept, it made the movie less enjoyable than it might have been. If I ever see it again I might like it better if I remind myself of this before I watch it.

Perhaps, but my memory is all or nothing, and I have no recollection of what Ober likes. The kid is cute, and the best part of the movie according to my wife. Perhaps that will appeal to their similarly shaped family sensibilities.
