What's the most bizarre food or food that most people might consider disgusting that you've ever eaten?
Mine would probably have to be balut (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut). It wasn't that bad, although they put too much salt on it thinking I would need that much salt to get it down.
-
I have heard a lot about that. I'd like to try it.
The most bizarre food I've had was pho, in Montreal. Beef broth with sirloin, tendons, tripe, and other bits in it. It was good. Tendons are chewy.
-
I've never had chewy pho before, but I really like it. Mm, msg.
I've never had it myself, but my dad has some Bosingtang last time we were in Korea. It's not disgusting to eat, but I guess it makes people mad.

So you ate an abortion?
"Bosintang is a traditional South Korean soup that includes dog meat as its primary ingredient. The traditions entail that the meat comes from dogs specifically bred for consumption, but numerous investigations by journalists, broadcasters and animal protectionists find several examples where other breeds have been used as ingredients. The soup is believed to provide additional virility, to those who eat it. The meat is boiled well together with many kinds of vegetables and seasoning for a long time. The taste is enhanced by the addition of garlic, ginger, Welsh onion, some kinds of herbs, perilla seed and hot pepper."

Eggs with legs! The treat with feet!
My wife loves that stuff. NO WAY would I eat one.

I have tried alot of unusual stuff but nothing off the scale.

When I lived in Taiwan my students would often times take me out to dinner where we would get served soup that contained coagulated blood chunks. You had to swallow the stuff whole since having one of those things explode in your mouth was enough to send you running to the nearest bathroom.

I've also had dinuguan (aka "Chocolate meat" which is basically meat with a sauce made from the blood). It wasn't bad at all.
So you ate an abortion?
Yes? Like I said, a little too much salt, though.

I ate some pretty weird things in South America.
in Peru I had Llama in three different forms: Steak (very tender, quite tastey but not something I could eat a whole lot of), Milanesa (thin sliced, breaded and fried. extremely tastey), and Empanadas (meat was slow cooked, very tastey).
In Argentina I had many Asados, which usually include morcillas (blood sausage) and chinchulines (intestines) among other bits of cow. I'm not a big fan of the blood sausage though.

Cuy, it was fairly tastly. or Chicken heart it was actuly quite good.

Great chieftain o' the puddin-race (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haggis), inevitably.

You're just mad I said Subway sucks. In your heart you know it's true.
-
I thought Subway blows...

I guess roasted pork cheeks would be up there. Damn tasty, very tender. They do some kind of fucked up tripe, prawn, fruit and rice dish in Portugal. I swear they stuff tripe into everything. I think I may have also see people add it to their cereal.
Here in Australia, I've eaten croc and kangaroo. Croc is nice, a bit like chicken. Roo is pretty strong, almost a venison flavour. It's also a real bastard to cook.
Bibimbap (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibimbap) is also pretty weird, at least to me. Kim you would know what it is yeah?
-
Why's bibimbap weird? It's pretty friggen awesome.

I like it, don't get me wrong, it's just an odd concept to me that's all :) Korean isn't that common here in Australia.
