I love you, grill
« on: April 03, 2010, 01:38:22 PM »
Finally got a new grill.  Can't wait to toss some brats on it this afternoon before the MSU game

What kind of grills does ES have?  This is my new one (upgraded from a functional but old and grody Coleman tailgater one that we will keep around for camping and... tailgating.

Gas.

Heavy duty seasoned cast iron grated.  Huge surface area.  Comes up to temp (580) in about 6 minutes.

Yeah ok Hank Hill, why don't you take your baby propane talk to some other thread and let the real men discuss charcoal here

I really want to love ribeye and I get that steak gets its flavor from the fat, but man, it seems like every time I get one at a restaurant or from a butcher (a good one, even), it's just fatty as hell.

It's been raining off and on this afternoon.  I've grilled in the rain before and I'll do it again, by gum!

Simple Weber grill. I haven't used it in a year or two. :|

But I have grilled hamburgers on Christmas the last two years in the dark in my dad's backyard.

Update: It's still pretty windy, but it stopped raining.  The wind is making is a little difficult to get the charcoal to stay lit.  On the plus side, i smell delicious.

edit: I re-lit the charcoal, it's going, brats are on.  It looks like I'm about to get really wet.

I set the grill just far enough from the house that I can sneak out in the rain but stay dry :)
