I'm tired of getting raped by iTunes. I found this: http://tunespro.com/index.php
Do you guys use anything else?
-
Amazon
-
Amazon
and walmart.
-
I like amazon as I cant bring myself to buy anything with DRM
-
Shit. Who knew? I never knew Amazon sold music like this... or Walmart. But it looks like Amazon's prices are better.
I still wonder about sites like the one in my first post. I've used sites like that in the past but they all seem to disappear from time to time. The one that I used was great because you could pick the quality of the music too.

This may be me being in dumb mode, but isn't all iTunes music DRM free these days?

OK, am I an idiot? How does Amazon's MP3 downloader work?
rant: If I buy an entire fucking soundtrack, why does every song have to have '[soundtrack version]' in the title. WHO GIVES A SHIT? GAH!
-
not sure how it works, but if you have a mac there's no downloader and you have to manually click a link for every mp3 in the album you just bought and wait for it to download and then repeat for each link. :(
that said, walmart wanted $1.24 for Martin Solveig & Dragonette's "Hello" and I got it for like $0.69 on Amazon!
-
There is a mac and linux version of the downloader....

They're your people, man. Don't be an elitist.

huh, its never prompted me to download it before. it's always just presented me with all the links and told me to download them manually.
until today, it asked if I wanted to store the mp3 in my cloud. so I opened an amazon cloud player account. 5GB Free storage to stream from? why not! I also upload the 1GB of songs already on my work lap top that I've bought over the last year. No more using iTune at work!

you didn't get 20 gb free?
i like amazon cause they're always giving away $2-3 to use up and they have a ton of free music

they didn't offer me 20GB free :(
20GB costs $20/year :dunno:

If you buy an album over $5 they give you the 20GB. I got mine this morning.
There is a catch. The 20GB is only free for a year... if you don't renew at the 1 year mark they drop back to 5GB. I wonder what they do with your shit if you're over the 5GB?

Didnt know that. Looking at http://crave.cnet.co.uk/digitalmusic/itunes-plus-everything-you-need-to-know-49300555/ though there still seems to be some gripes (your info as part of the downloaded file, having to pay to un-DRM all the stuff you usually bought and having it in a format that's not as usable as plain old MP3)...
I doubt I'll change my methods of buying music ;)

According to their twitter:
#Cloudplayer Tip: Any music you purchase from Amazon MP3 and immediately send to #clouddrive doesn't count against your storage limits.
-
Just bought off amazon yesterday - trying out their chart toppers for .69. Easy. First experience with cloud drive. I didn't use it a lot - just long enough to download what I want....pretty straight forward though.
-
What do u guys spend on music a year? Cuz I save 4x that
-
Rough guess? Maybe $60/$70. I don't buy much music and I haven't bought a CD in a LONG time.
-
I bought a CD a couple months ago so I am up to $15 for the year I guess
-
Last year I spent $20 in the last 6 months, so probably somewhere around 40/year. Like I said, a lot of albums are under $10, and I frequently find deals where I get $3 off. If I bought physical albums, I suspect it would be much higher than that. (Or much lower, because I might download the album illegally.)
-
This year: about £11 - 2 classical albums I bought off Amazon MP3
-
$20 to $40 max.
-
YTD, $26.80 on Music
-
I used to spend an awful lot more - around £200 - £300 per year, but in the last year or so I cut down massively
-
$2
-
$20/year at the most. A bit more when I was teaching adn pretending to stay hip.

The 5 GB was free, but now it's unlimited.
