New QOTSA album
« on: May 30, 2007, 08:22:38 AM »
Has anyone heard the leak for this yet?

I've gotta say, I'm not all that impressed at first listen.  Josh's vocals sound really muffled and distorted.  It's possibly because it's a leak, but I don't believe that's the reason.  I'll definitely have to pick it up when it drops in a couple weeks, but I'm not sure it's going to get a lot of plays.  I can still listen to Songs for the Deaf (enough times that I've had to buy the CD twice) and Rated R all day long, but Lullabies did nothing for me and I'm afraid this may be the same thing.  3's and 7's is pretty awesome at first listen, though.

edit: also the album art is AWFUL

I have Rated R, that was a great, great album.  Haven't listened to anything since.  It's all just the same really muted tick-tocky drums and bad hair.

Songs for the Deaf is just as good, if not better.  It's got Dave Grohl on drums for a few songs too, so they're anything but muted :)
