Funny story, my wife actually saw Lady Gaga in concert.  A couple years ago when the New Kids on the Block started their reunion tour my wife went to their concert (which apparently was very awesome) but Lady Gaga, who no one had heard of at the time time, was the opening act.  Everyone in the crowd was like, "WTF is that?!" and yet, here we are two years later and she's the most popular freak on the airwaves.

My mother-in-law's friend says she named Lady Gaga. Gaga means crazy in Tagalog, and this Filipino lady was friends with Lady Gaga and would always call her crazy. I guess the name stuck.
