Instant Rice Noodles
« on: October 23, 2015, 01:22:24 PM »
Anyone have a recommendation for some instant rice noodles? I'm looking for just the noodles rather than the kind with seasoning packets etc. Preferably something I could get from Amazon or some other online store or might be easily available at a local grocery.

I'm looking for something simple for work lunches and instant noodles are nice since they don't require the microwave, just hot water. I plan on making my own sauce/broth to go along with it out of some simple ingredients.

Make your own noodles too!  That would be a hoot.

can you just use the ones that come with the packet and not add it?

If I can remember when I get home I will see if the wife has a preferred brand.

Never heard of any that didn't come with a packet. When I don't want the seasoning, I just don't add the packet.

My hope is they'd be a bit cheaper, or maybe slightly better quality. I do sometimes just do that with the cheap package style ramen. Add a bit of spaghetti sauce and boom, or a bit of butter and parmesan cheese.

You can get allllll sorts without the packets.  Nothing we have here is packet free at the moment.  Just go to a local Asian store and purchase a dozen types.  Inexpensive adventures ahead....

Look up the brand "Sau Tao". They sell tubs of noodles (not sure if they have rice noodles though; all i've seen so far are wonton noodles).
