-FF7 is a boring, linear piece of garbage that barely qualifies as an RPG
-Ditto for the Diablo series
-Starcraft is the most overrated game of all time
-If Halo had been released on PC first, it would have been completely ignored. The only purpose it served was to introduce the console world to overhyped mediocre shooters.

Govt, I thought you said unpopular gaming opinions.
-
Tekken 5 only exists to bring newbies into the series - it sucks cock IMO
Dynasty warriors series are too monotonous to play

I love the diablo series and starcratft.

Diablo: clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick level up!clickclickclickclickclickclick
Repeat 50 times to beat the game
What makes Starcraft better than any other RTS out there? There's nothing special about it.

exactly! what more could you ask for from a game? heh,
>What makes Starcraft better than any other RTS out there? There's nothing special about it.
I don't know what it is. Probably because its the first RTS I played online. I put many many hours into that game. It just has a special place in my virtual heart now.
-
-KOTOR held my interest for all of about 2 hours
-In spite of putting out new versions every year, most sports games are still horribly broken and really unrealistic (this might not be that unpopular)
-
Half Life 2 = most over rated game of all time.
Pretty much everything else said before this post I don't agree with except what govt said about halo and starcraft.
-
-In spite of putting out new versions every year, most video games are still horribly broken and really unrealistic
Fixed.
-
- the Metal Gear Solid series's storyline is so unrealistic it's unwatchable a little through the second game. No, there isn't a conspiracy by the secret rulers of America to ban 1's and 0's.
- GTA San Andreas isn't going to turn us into violent impolite zombies
- Lucasarts sucked by pulling the Sam and Max sequel (not unpopular, i guess)
- I think of Super Mario Land (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Land) when I think of mario because my first experience with mario was with that little pixelated guy. I never owned a NES :(
- the star trek next generation genesis game sucked in the middle because you had to wander a maze and search for invisible radioactive ore and rescue crewmen in little cacoon-type-things while being attacked by slugs that can apparently shoot you. (Geordi could see the ore but he was easily damaged beyond usefulness)
- The genesis was superior to the SNES (discuss)
-
Yeah, I can't think of that many noteworthy Genesis games, but there are tons of great SNES ones out there.
-
I own a genesis and I can only think of two games I played on it...Should've bought an SNES instead :(
-
Well, at least he posted a true unpopular opinion. Good job, ygfperson.
-
-Doom3 SUCKS. They bragged about the graphics, but what good are they if YOU CAN'T FUCKING SEE THEM!?
- Generals Zero Hour is STUPID HARD at points. Some missions you can walk through with 1 person. Other missions you spend 2 hours just figuring out how to make it 10 minutes. I hate suicide bombers.
- Starcraft sucks... see comments above
- Serious Sam blows. A couple guys here love it, but it's just to simple for me.
-
Half-Life 2: the most boring, over-rated pile of steaming pish ever inflicted on anybody by somebody else.
Just about anything that has "non-linear plotline" somewhere in its description must be treated with the deepest of suspicion and, very probably, contempt.
*******
I'd disagree about Doom3 - I liked it a lot (and Resurrection of Evil); the darkness can be tweaked by ramping up the gamma (but too much, as with any other game and everything looks crap pretty quickly). I think you didn't like it, Ober, because you're just big girl's blouse who's scared of his own shadow. :tongue2:
-
No, the "Imp randomly pops up behind you" part of Doom got old really fast.
-
That's a fair comment, actually but I liked some of the pda humour and the visuals, particularly chunks of hell which were rather impressive. The sounds were good and spooky, too. The last game that had me trying to look around the side of my monitor before Doom3 was Doom2.
-
You ever play System Shock 2? It'd look dated now, but it was scary as hell when it came out. The graphics are based on the Dark Engine (from Thief), but the sounds are still excellent.
-
Half-Life 2 - so much potential yet wasted on a boring get from point A to point B and kill everything in between game.
Any of the online battleground games like Battlefield 2. Nothing against the game but just got tired of having to kill hyperactive jumping/crouching/running kiddies. Any game where jumping around like a fool improves your chance of survival gets a no from me.
Any of the Tomb Raider series. Nearly impossible to control and figure out what to do.

No [me]does quick google for screenies - aah-ha!, early zombie flensing...[/me] but I did play some of Thief 1 & 2. They didn't grab me so I donated them to a friend's small children who apparently had oodles of fun with those games.
-
Deus Ex 2 - Invisible War - how to take a bloody good game and completely and utterly turn it into the most boring and easiest sequel to complete ever!
Then Splinter Cell - looked forward to that and it was so easy i finished the thing completely in stealth mode without killing anyone (even though it does register that i killed one of the objectives - when i had only knocked him out - bit silly that)
Diablo agree with Cheez...
HL2 - have got a bit bored with it now i am outside and have a squad - i dont want a squad - meh i'll just use them for cannon fodder whilst i pick off people with my crossbow.
[ps. both system shocks were cool and i also loved the thief games as i love stealth games]

If you're playing BF2 for the hand to hand combat, you're missing 70% of the game.

I may have been pissed at that game because of my shitty monitor at the time. Now that I've bought a new monitor that is not as dark, I may have to try it again.

Yeah, I admit to only briefly playing BF2, just the whole genre annoys me so I couldn't get past that.
-
Yeah, I can't think of that many noteworthy Genesis games
I played Shining Force for like hours on end...thats the greatest platform rpg ive ever played
-
SS2 did the PDA thing years ago. You also frequently ran into the owner's ghosts.
They set it up so well for a sequel - I doubt it'll ever come, though :(

Hehe. :D!
is that penn? how'd they conn him into doing that?
another unpopular opinion: rpg's are boring and your time is better spent dealing with real people than collecting points in a world which is well-constructed but doesn't give you the freedom to do random stuff (like digging a really large hole, and then pushing someone into it, for instance)
it would actually kick ass to have a real 3d multiplayer enviroment where you could build buildings and steeples and etc and show them off and collect tourism points
-
> it would actually kick ass to have a real 3d multiplayer enviroment where you could build buildings and steeples and etc
Check out a game called Second Life
