All uh ya.  If I live long enough to see the next one I will be retired.  Prolly sending Benny photos of palm trees.

Mike:
<nerd>The decade doesn't start until 2021.  The first decade was 1-10 not 0-9</nerd>  Nay, just kidding.

ober:
Happy New Year!  I'll be impressed but not surprised to see you retire so early :)  My dad is retiring this year.  Crazy.

'um, huh? why wouldn't the first decade be 0-9?
I just had this conversation with my 9 year old last night when she proclaimed her youtube channel was 4 years old because she started it on Jan 1,  2017. I was like, it was 0 when you started it. It turned 1 in 2018, 2 in 2019 and now 3 in 2020... you're in your 4th year, but only 3 years old.  3 years and 1 day. But yeah, its a new year: the 4th year.  the year 10 was the start of the second decade

Because the first year is 1 AD not 0 AD.  So first decade is 1AD - 10AD then 11AD - 20AD, etc etc etc

That said, while I find it a somewhat interesting thought I really don't care.  It is a new decade and 2000 was the start of a new century and a new millennia.

The best counter argument is that 1975-1984 was a decade with as much meaning as any other.  We just like round numbers.
