Biking / cyclocross
« on: October 22, 2015, 02:51:45 PM »
Anyone into biking? I'm not really but I really like riding to work when I can. It's about 7k, mostly road but I cut through a park with some dirt/gravel. I'd like to do some longer rides too if I could find the time.

I was thinking of picking up a cyclocross bike. It's a racing/road bike frame with wider knobby tires for dirt. They're pretty pricey but I found a decent entry level bike for $800 at sportchek (originally 1,000).

I currently have a  hybrid "commuter bike", love the bike but it really sucks on gravel... I get lots of flats.

I would really like to get into biking - it looks like it is something I would enjoy.

Have you guys seen those fat tire bikes? WTF is that? I originally thought they were for snow or mudding or something/ But apparently they work as a suspension?

has anyone been on one of these yet? they look goofy as shit
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I rode one of those in a store once.  I didn't get the appeal.  Seemed harder to pedal.

I bought a bike a while ago.  Gave it a college try but have barely rode it other than riding with the kids around the neighborhood.

I really need to get back into working out climbing the fuck out of trees.  :(

I have a CX bike and had some fun with it. I don't really ride anymore though. :(
