Running is way better than pushups

Not that this quote necessarily contradicts it, but didn't you say before that building muscle is more important than aerobic training?

I enjoy building muscle more than aerobic training, but I don't consider pushups a decent muscle building exercise, as I've said many times.

Going to try the pushups and situps in a bit...but for now:

Run: 4.5 miles, 10:18 pace.  1 quick stop at 1 mile to stretch, another 1 minute breather at the the second mile, then straight back....getting back into the flow.  I love spring.  A perfect day.

Okay....that really hurt.....

120 pushups (max 30 in 1 rep)

64 situps (max 15 in a rep)

Situps weren't so bad, but I finished with the pushups and I'm about dead....I need food and shower...

I started doing my situps on the incline bench with a 25lb plate. I go all the way back, half way up then side-to-side, back down and then all the way up as one rep. I did three sets of five today, abs feelin good!


This is my third week at a new gym (campus gym at my fiances university, signed up here since I'm on her campus more often than my own). It's a nice gym, I've been playing a lot of squash there too.

sit-ups: 72 (max set 17)
push-ups: 120 (max set 32)

Run:
2 segments:
3.51 miles at 9:19/mile pace
.46 miles for final portion at 8:39/mile pace

just thought I'd chime in and say that I don't think I've done 100 pushups in my life.  Like aggregate.

NICE!  I haven't done this in forever...but my run times are getting better and better...this whole gym in my building thing is awesome.  Have you started doing the routine again?

My son and I just started this challenge.  I wasn't around when this happened before. We did our first day today.  Thanks Jen for resurrecting this thread.  :)
