Anyone ever been to Texas de Brazil?

Never been to Texas, but I've been to a couple other restaurants like that.  They're amazing, but expensive.  You better bring your appetite

You remember Bonfire, at 7 and Haggerty?  That's a place called Gaucho now.  Same thing.

edit: I always try to go at lunch if I can.  It's half price and you get the same food.

there is one close to us and we've been there a twice. Every time it was a great experience, but pricey! The food (read meat) is ridiculous...you must be a meat person to enjoy this place.

I signed up for their coupons/newsletter and I used those coupons twice. I don't remember what the initial deal was when I signed up, but it really made it worth going. GC is right - bring your appetite and go out with a bunch of people. Make an event out of it. Both times we went we stayed 3-4 hours.

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Yeah even when we've gone to Gaucho for lunch we were there for close to two hours.  The servers were unfailingly polite, even though the group of work guys includes a dude that's well over 400lb and was determined to eat his weight in steak

Interesting.  No Gov, I never heard of either place.

I may try TdB over Christmas break.

Never went to Bonfire?  You were missing out, it was my favorite restaurant in the area.  I heard they got closed down when one of their cooks came into work sick and a whole bunch of diners got sick.

If you ever went to Grizzly Peak in A2 or Northern Peak in Traverse City they're very similar

Have heard of GP but not the other.  Never went to it though.  IN A2 it usually liked the smaller places.  There was a Korean place I used to frequent.  Dunno if it is still around.

As far as chains went I always enjoyed BD's.

I've never been to the original place mentioned by Knuck, but there's a Brazilian steakhouse pretty close to here that's the same idea. Mmm. Now I want meat.

Yep. Went when I was in Memphis a couple of years back. The food was fantastic, and (compared to the UK) not really that pricey. You have to really like meat though...
