very, very nice Mikey! I would, however, display it better....and preferably below the description of ES.  maybe some borders as well. I'll cook up a screeny of what I'm thinking about.

ok, but their ought to be a seperation between the dynamic content and the welcoming note....it seems too smuched together. Also, the border between the welcome note and the right hand side menu is missing right where the menu apperas (in FF) - the menu seems to be moved a bit to the left:

I know about that... I sorta made it that way.  I guess I could change it.  It's all about how things lie against each other.

And I'm working on making the topics look a little better.

how about having the dynamic content on the left hand side of the welcome note? so that we have:

|| Dyn Content ||  Welcome Note Welcome Note || menu ||
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

I made it a front page only item.  I thought that was kinda silly. I also fixed the menu border problem.  And I kinda like axon's idea of putting this stuff on the left, although you'll have a lot of word-wrapping going on.

Also, Mike, can we show which forum the post is in?  That'd be kinda cool (but take up a little more space.

I'm still working on formatting.  It's ugly at the moment.

sure, let me add that to the function.  It'll be under ['forum']

Check the ssi.php for when I get it done

not if you, say, set the limit of characters to some X number....if the thread title is longer, have '...' at the end. Like at the moment, the longest title is "Photography Scavanger Hunt Vol 1." - you could have that as the widest thread title, anything longer than that would get the "..." at the end.

Sweet.  Can you comment the SSI a little more heavily when you get it finished?  I understand 95% of what you've done, but there are few things I have yet to pick up on.

True, but the problem is the page is set to percentages as far as how wide the side margins are... on 800x600 or even 1024x768, things start to get pretty squished.  I'd rather have it laid out with one on top of the other, especially when we throw in what forum the post is in.

If you want to see how I'd like it to look, go to http://www.ehowa.com and look at the very top of the page.
