Anyone looking forward to this movie? I am, considering Depp will be starring and Tim Burton directing. From what I've heard, it's a darker and trippier remake of the original.

I'm looking forward to it.  I haven't seen the orginal in some time though so I'd probably have to get it from Netflix :)

Wow, there's an original movie? Didn't know that.
I only know the story from Rohald Dahl's book. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. Depp could be perfect as Wonka.

The orignal was called Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067992/)
So is it a remake or another version of the story?

another version... the book doesn't differentiate from the movie that much

Just watched the orginal.  Wasn't as weird as I remember but still freaky at times

This new movie is supposed to be a lot closer to the book than the original movie was.  Roald Dahl wasn't very satisfied with the original movie, so if he were alive, he'd likely enjoy this one more.
