Title: Graphics card - Half Life 2
Post by: salvelinus on July 06, 2005, 03:53:26 PM
Got Half Life 2, and apparently my graphics setup on the laptop isn't really up to it (haven't bought a pc game since Myst 2 - except Sims for the kids). It's a Mobility Radeon 9000 AGP, internal DAC 350 mhz, 32 mb. What's a decent replacement?

I won't be of much help on this one as I don't spec or buy video cards for laptops.  However, you should be looking for something with at least 128mb of DDR onboard RAM, preferrably 256, especially since you're stuck with AGP.

I don't know. It's been years since I added a card. There is a desktop I could add it to, but that's not my main machine.

I think it depends on the model... some allow you to change the cards, others you have to open up and void the warranty (or ship it out to have it officially done)
