Anyone know what this is and what it is supposed to do for the average user?

IIRC, its a programming platform that lets users create desktop based applications using basic web mark-up and programming languages.

so I think you can build google-like apps without locking the user into their browser and without having to learn windows programing.

at least, thats my understanding of it all.  :dunno:
