I can hear 15 just fine and 16 I can kinda hear.

I swear that working next to a huge air conditioning unit for 3 years killed some of my hearing.

I played in so many bands and went to tons of loud concerts (big ones and local shows) as a teenager, never wore ear plugs. I'm pretty sure I have some hearing damage. I guess my frequency hearing is ok but I wouldn't want to see the results of an amplitude test.

oh shiz, I could hear 12 fine but had to really concentrate for 14.  15 was just silence.  Is that bad?

Well the article says not hearing over 15 when your over 25 years old is fairly common, so I guess it's not too bad.

ok, I tried it again with my laptop speakers all the way up - now I can hear 15 and 16 - but not 17.

There is a 61 year old guy that works for me and he can't hear at 8!

With my laptop speakers i can only get to 17. My first score was with the cheap ass ear buds that came with my blackberry

So if I crank my speakers up I can hear a hum while 17 plays.

I could hear 14 but with 15 all I could hear was a tiny click at the start and at the end. Used my headphones.

The first time I tried it all I heard was 8. That scared me. But that was with a bunch of other noises in the room and my volume at somewhat low levels.

I've always had average to below average hearing, so I'm not surprised. I was surprised when I took a hearing test while at an ear/nose/throat doctor visit and he said my hearing was normal. I was also surprised when I saw how much that cost, especially since I had no other medical expenses and I had to pay it directly because of my deductible. :(

I know this is old, but I just had my mom try and she can't hear 12.  I wanted to ask Rob what he could hear.

I can hear 12 just fine, I don't think I can hear 14, but I can just make out 15. Odd. 16 and above? Nothing.

my daughter just came home from school with the hearing test results they do with 3rd graders.  She only passed 2 of the 3 test.  I'm trying to decide if we really need to follow up or if she just didn't do well with the test.  Like, she doesn't like things touching her ears and its hard to get her to sit still and follow instructions. She says she tried really hard and wasn't goofing off but  :dunno:

Anyway, this link from 2009 still works. I don't think I can hear 14khz any more.  My daughter could hear 16 just fine and thought it was hilarious that I couldn't hear the others.

Mine has dropped with age though oddly I can still clearly define quality of audio gear.  Though I suppose not like I could 30 years ago.
