Title: 2001 space odyssey sequels

I just finished 2001 space odyssey and quite liked it. Ive seen the movie for the sequel and it was pretty average, I was wondering if anybody has read either of the 2 sequels and if I should bother giving them a go

Yes absolutely.  I have a copy of 2010: Odyssey Two.  It's written a different style to the first book, but don't let that put you off.

The last book, 3001 is a bit crap though.

the bookstore I normally go to didn't have it so i'm hitting up all of the H.G Wells at the moment, will check those out next I guess
