Ok, we haven't had a web hosting thread for at least a month now....
I've never actually bought my own hosting, I've always just used a friends or school account. Now I want to get my own. I'm looking at godaddy because they are cheap and support both python and java. ~$8 / month, 150GB storage, unlimited bandwidth, etc...
My question is, if I upload some really data/cpu intensive app (like a research prototype search engine, maybe 10GB of data, it would consume up to 6 - 8GB of RAM if available) would they cut me off? I don't see anything against it, but its shared hosting so I dunno how that would work...
I don't care so much about the perfomance, since this is more just for demos and personal stuff.
Also, I'm open to hosting suggestions that support python and java.
