I agree with the side burner comment.  We left the burner in the box again and use it as a shelf.

We also purchased a non-Webber cover.  Looks great and is designed well.

I use the entire surface area nearly every time we use the thing.  I would go nuts with a smaller grill.

Mine hits temp fast, then I let all the thermal masses inside stabilize to air temp before starting to cook.

As much as I dig a burger or a steak, I use it for veggies more than anything.  Nothing is better than green onions on the grill.

I'm going to smoke a big pork shoulder and a rack or two of ribs this weekend so I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you

I use the side burner for all kinds of things that need to be cooked in a pot - from beans to sauces. I also use it for skillet type of work - like mushrooms or some veggies.
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Why?  I have a stove for that.

OK....

why would you want to keep going inside while you grill? especially on a hot day.

Do it anyway usually.  Shrug.  Stove is like 12' from the deck.
