Title: What's for lunch?
Post by: Steve on June 22, 2012, 11:41:03 AM
Last night I grilled some home made bacon cheddar hamburgers, and they were great. I have a few patties mixed up that did not get used, so I plan to throw them on the grill. I also just found a zucchini in my garden that is WAY ahead of it's time, almost three foot long. The next biggest isn't even ready to be picked yet! So I picked this monster, and i figure i will throw a few large slices on the grill while I'm at it :)

The rest I will probably combine between baking (Zucchini Parmesan for dinner I'm thinking) and some bread.

What brand of the frozen food? I finally found a brand of frozen chinese i like, but it is pricey. Comes in a plastic white container, always tastes incredibly fresh and good. I used to buy pai mai or whatever, and pf changs. No good imo.

Still cannot find a good frozen egg roll.

my wife made an awesome garden salad: lettuce, cherry tomatoes-halved, chopped cucumber, our own green onion, radish thinly sliced. It was awesome without any dressings.

I can't eat salad without dressing. Lunch was great, the burger was juicy and the zucchini slices came out really well.

Had a bowl of chicken noodle soup so far, the only thing in my fridge is beer and cheese so I'm not sure what I'm going to have to compliment that.

Today I had lentil and sausage soup, broccoli, a banana, and a salad.  I'll probably have this for a few days because man did I make a shitload of soup last night.

I love soup - but not when it is hot out!

It's not hot here right now.  Later this week it'll be pretty miserable, though

Here's the recipe I made.  The 3Q chicken broth made it a lot soupier than I would have liked.  I was hoping for something like a stew, but it was still good.  I used chorizo instead of italian sausage because I had chorizo.

Pretzels.

Made some wraps for lunch today. Habanero-lime tortillas from Trader Joe's with some grilled chicken, feta, lettuce, and diced tomatoes.

For me, it has to be a certain type of soup for me to want it in the summer.

Quote
Samgyetang is traditionally served in the summer for its supposed nutrients, which replaces those lost through excessive sweating and physical exertion during the hot summers in Korea.

I do.  The sides are what interests me.  Once ate so much kimchee (sp?) and pickled radishes I was sick for two days.  Worth it tho.

Also, I had peanut butter and (strawberry) jelly on wheat for lunch. Again.

With carrots and raspberries and a diet cherry coke and pistachios and a granola bar and ritz crackers and a bottled water.
