As I sit here dying after a brief ride (up and down hill) around the block, now I know I'm out of shape. Anyone else actually bike around? I'm sick of driving.

Not until he gets those ass-less chaps.
Everything is too far removed here in San Antonio to ride a bike. Plus, they're too hippy for my taste.

To and from campus, unless I need to be somewhere in a huge rush after class.

The main issue that has kept me from riding as transport is simply sweet. I can't do the slow ass 5-10 mph pace that is suppose to keep you from sweeting. And there are no gyms near work.

It's spelled sweat.

Unless you actually do get sweeter as you cycle longer. :p

haha spelling for the fail!

I would bike places if i wasnt all sweaty upon arrival

Yeah I agree. Same problem with going for a couple mile walk at lunch.

If ass-less chaps had an ass, wouldn't they be pants?

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out if I want to actually use it to get anywhere, or just explore town. I enjoy just driving or walking around LA -- you always find cool places -- but driving is a pain and walking can only get you so far (and you only feel comfortable walking through so many shady areas). We have a gym in the office, but I don't know if I want to be that guy riding his bike to work. I guess the first step is to get in shape enough to ride anywhere, then take it from there.

That's true, "ass-less chaps" is probably redundant. And at the least, they'd be leather pants.

Fixed for accuracy..

I used to bike a bit. Going to college in Davis almost everybody has a bike, so that wasn't unusual, but after I moved away and got a job I still biked a bit. I'd love to do it now but my work would be like 40 minutes away so it might be difficult. That and I left my bike at an old apartment.
I'd try biking to work if it's a decent ride. If it doesn't work, switch back to the car.
