Zip code Lat/Lng DB
« on: July 21, 2008, 07:16:52 PM »
Anyone know of a free DB with a list of the US zip codes with their lat and lng coords? I have one in csv but it refuses to import and typing out my own is going to blow.

No data was received to import. Either no file name was submitted, or the file size exceeded the maximum size permitted by your PHP configuration. See FAQ 1.16.

Are you guys splitting them up when you upload them?

It's the same error with both of them (see last post). Then i try and create multiple csv files and i get "Invalid field count in CSV input on line 1.".

Dude, if you can't get the CVS file to upload just open it up and use a text editor to setup the database inserts.  CSV files are easy to edit.

That's it?  Learn how to use your editor.  Hell, import it into excel, add columns to put it repeated characters (like ', ' between data).  Copy and paste the text down the column.  Then copy the sheet to a text editor and then do a find/replace on tabs.  Copy and paste into phpMyAdmin.  Done.

Done that more times then I care to think of.

phpMyAdmin handled that file quite well for me actually.

I think its the limit setting for the file size. And since its shared hosting i dont think i can change it. I had to set php settings and it required an ini in every single folder under the directory for that to even work right.

how the heck do i move columns in excel? I can make a new one, but i cant "drag and drop" it between another.

Example:

CA CB CC

to

CB CA CC
