I remembered about the little grey box of a NES I has all those years ago, and the Sega MegaDrive II (Genesis to USA) and went hunting for emulators.
Well I found NES & Genesis emulators, and some good sites with hundreds of archived ROM's, but I can't remember any of the good games I used to have. So far I've got:
Genesis
Sonic 1/2/3
Desert Strike
Urban Strike
Jungle Strike
MK 3
GoldenAxe 3
Streets of Rage 1/2/3
NES
Final Fantasy 1/2/3
Metal Gear
Any recommendations? Were there any other Metal Gear games on NES, and were the Legacy of Kain games on it too?

Thanks for your recs. I found all of them except for Yo Noid! and Legend of Zelda (which I remember having at one point years ago :)).
*plays* :D

> Bad Dudes (Greatest. Story. Ever)
I've never even played this, and I agree.
Also, Tecmo Bowl, Mike Tyson's Punchout, Double Dragon and SMB 1.
edit: If you're doing Genesis, you should also do SNES. Get A Link to the Past, which is still awesome almost 15 years after it came out.

NES: Dragon Warrior (I still have the entire map of the world memorized)
-
I just nabbed a SNES emulator :D
Thanks again guys :)

Ok I've got Dragon Warrior 1/2/3/4, Double Dragon 1/2/3 and Tecmo Bowl.
You'll laugh at this: what is SMB? I couldn't find A Link to the Past anywhere either

Super Mario Brothers.
Look, if you didn't know that, you should just stop playing video games. Also, Link to the Past is a Legend of Zelda game; that should help the search.
Now that you've added SNES, I'm going to add Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario World.
If you're going the ROM route, it wouldn't take much effort at all to find every ROM for all 3 of these systems.

:o A Megadrive thread with no mention of Toejam and Earl 2! OK, the game sucked a bit, but the music was :cool2:

Anyone ever play "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" (I think that's what it was called) or "Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers" for NES? Chip and Dale is awesome; it actually has a two-player cooperative mode!
And indiana jones was one of my favorites (I think I only actually beat it once :D)

Man there's so many great games on the NES/SNES, I didn't know what I was missing :D
Thanks for all the recs. I can't keep up, I got a folder brimming with ROMs.
I wonder if I'll be able to find a NES or SNES on ebay?
-
God knows how many were sold back in the early 90s... I wouldn't doubt that someone would have one
-
Does anyone know what platform Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen is on? I'm pretty sure it's NES or SNES but I can't find it anywhere :(
-
It was on the Playstation.

What?
To be more accurate, IGN said it came out for the PS, Dreamcast, and Saturn. Sure as hell wasn't the NES or SNES, though.
-
I wasn't much of a fan of NES games except the zelda and mario series but my favourite Genesis/Mega Drive games are the Shining Force series.

Cool this Genesis emulator can also handle Saturn ROM's although I havn't tried.

I definitely second the Shining Force suggestion, also Beyond Oasis and Phantasy Star IV. Phantasy Star II is more an exercise in pain than anything, but you might want to check that out too.
EDIT: Oh yeah, Shadowrun!
