Need to recover contacts from broken phone
« on: July 11, 2018, 06:08:18 AM »
Dropped my Samsung Galaxy S5 several months ago; screen broke. Got a S8, but couldn't do smart transfer because the S5 screen was locked with a pattern. Need a contact on there.

Someone mentioned an OTG adapter and mouse. What does this mean

I watch you...

Where is the contact actually stored? Google contacts (via whichever google account you used to log into android), or some samsung contacts app (maybe it's also in some cloud somewhere)? Contacts can also be stored on the SIM card, you can try cutting the old SIM so it fits into your S8 (use the S8s SIM as a template).
