how are the fees on an app like that?  Like, if you order $10 worth of food, how much do you end up paying after fees and tip?

My $12 order, after delivery fee and mandatory, percentage based tip (and tax) was $19.

I suppose that's not too bad. I generally don't get delivery because its easier/cheaper to go pick something up, plus its nice to get out of the house for a half hour.  But sometimes it's just me and the kids and I really don't feel like taking them anywhere so we'll get pizza delivered.  Before apps like grubhub though, pizza was the only thing available. It's be nice to have some variety, or heck just to get the kids a couple happy meals without leaving the house.

I don't imagine I'll use it regularly, but yeah, the variety is nice. Double check restaurant reviews on Yelp or google or something, though. Everything, even taco bell, seems to 4 or 5 stars on grubhub

LOL yeah, I would question the authenticity of those reviews. hahaha

Not gonna lie, I read the title as GitHub instead of GrubHub.

I generally review things in context.  I'm not expecting great food from Taco Bell.  I'm expecting Taco Bell level food.  So, if they get my order right and it doesn't taste worse than normal taco bell food then 5 stars it is.  Now, if I order from a fancy Mexican restaurant and get taco bell level food then it'll only get 1-2 stars.

That makes sense Mike, I kinda do that too actually.
Also, they're probably some level of the review being more about the delivery service.  So if the delivery went well and the food showed up at its normal constant quality, then that would influence the review

I'd still give perfect Taco Bell food 4 stars. There is some expectation built in, but not that much.
